ATTA FESTIVAL: STORY CREATORS WORKSHOP – FARNOOSH FARNIA

ATTA FESTIVAL: STORY CREATORS WORKSHOP – FARNOOSH FARNIA

AS PART OF THE 10TH ATTA FESTIVAL: STORY CREATORS WORKSHOP – FARNOOSH FARNIA AT PARIBU ART ON NOVEMBER 21–22

Story Creators is a fun and interactive storytelling workshop designed for children aged 8 and over. Led by Dutch storyteller Farnoosh Farnia (Mezrab Storytelling School), the workshop introduces children to the fundamentals of creating and sharing their own stories, drawing inspiration from both Dutch and Turkish cultures.

Throughout the workshop, children explore themes from Dutch culture, including “gezelligheid” (a sense of warmth and togetherness), cycling culture, houseboats, multicultural identity, and school life in the Netherlands, while connecting these elements to their own cultural experiences. Through games, imagination exercises, and simple storytelling activities, they learn how to bring together a character, a setting, and an unexpected moment to create their own short stories.

Working in pairs, children draw scenes from their stories and share their creations in a safe and supportive storytelling circle. The workshop encourages self-confidence, cultural curiosity, and self-expression while bringing together different perspectives from the Netherlands and Türkiye.
